SDJM Membership

The Society of the Descendants of Johannes de la Montagne is made up of ordinary people of diverse backgrounds, spread out across North America. The sole criterion for membership in the Society is lineal descent from Dr. Johannes Mousnier de la Montagne (1595-1670), Huguenot physician of New Amsterdam.

If you are interested in joining, we would be delighted to hear from you! Please feel free to contact us and we will detail what we need from you. Our application process is similar to that of most genealogical societies: we require documentary proof (following generally accepted standards of reliability) detailing your line of descent from our progenitor.

Membership dues are $15 per year, including a four-issue subscription to the SDJM Newsletter.*

If you have genealogical/historical information that may further the goals of the Society, but are not interested in joining, please contact us anyway...we will give you our undivided attention!

* One year of membership dues includes one volume (four issues) of the SDJM Newsletter, regardless of whether the publication of said volume coincides precisely with the calendar year.
